Abstract. It is shown how techniques from constructive quantum field theory may be applied to indefinite metric gauge theories in Hilbert space for the case of a Higgs-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory on a lattice. The Hamiltonian operator is shown to be Krein essentially selfadjoint by means of unbounded but Krein unitary transformations relating the Hamiltonian to an essentially maximal accretive operator.
