Abstract. We prove that the optimal transportation of mass on compact manifolds for cost functions associated to convex Lagrangians is realized by Lipschitz measured lamination. We apply Methods from Mather theory, and especially its approach via the Hamilton-Jacobi equation as introduced by Fathi.
