Fernando Jose Sanchez-Salas Higher dimensional versions of the Folklore Theorem, II. (611K, dvi, ps) ABSTRACT. We prove in this issue that a hyperbolic $C^2$ horseshoe with infinitely many branches satisfying certain bounded distortion condition supports an ergodic Sinai-Ruelle-Bowen measure if and only if its unstable Cantor sets have positive measure. This extends to generalized hyperbolic sets of saddle type similar results obtained previously for expanding Markov transformations with infinitely many expanding branches.
