Reduction of Normal Forms

ABSTRACT.  We give an algorithm to simplify Poincar\'e 
normal forms, making use of higher order
effects; this leads to a simplification in 
the local study of nonlinear systems. The
procedure is easily extended to the 
hamiltonian case and Birkhoff normal forms.
