Wavelet Analysis  of Transfer Operators acting on n - dimensional  
H\"older, Zygmund, Triebel spaces

ABSTRACT.  In this paper we show how wavelet analysis may be used
to analyse spectral properties of the transfer operator when it is  
acting on function spaces that are well described through wavelet  
expansions.
We prove a fairly explicit formula for the essential spectral  
radius  when the transfer operator is acting on   the  
H\"older-Zygmund Triebel scale of spaces.
It involves only the local linearizations of the transfer operator.
