Waxler R. Generalized Eigenfunction Expansion Near Resonances (54K, TeX) ABSTRACT. The non-relativistic quantum mechanical description of meta-stable states which arise by perturbation of embedded eigenvalues is considered. A model is studied which is exactly solvable in the sense that the continuum eigenfunctions for the perturbed system can be found. Systematic approximations for these eigenfunctions are obtained. These approx- imations have a particularly simple form near the resonances.
