ABSTRACT.  In this note we analyse an anisotropic, two-dimensional 
 bootstrap percolation model introduced by Gravner and Griffeath. 
We present upper and lower bounds 
on the finite-size effects. We discuss the similarities with 
the semi-oriented model introduced by Duarte.
