Giorgio Mantica and Davide Guzzetti The Asymptotic Behaviour of the Fourier Transform of Orthogonal Polynomials II: IFS measures and Quantum Mechanics (2574K, latex with five postscript figures) ABSTRACT. We study measures generated by systems of linear iterated functions, their Fourier transform, and those of their orthogonal polynomials. We show that a Mellin analysis permits to fully characterize the asymptotic behaviours of these and other related quantities. Relevance of this analysis to quantum mechanics is briefly discussed.
